The Jacksonville Jazz Series was created by ElevenJuly Productions to provide quality musicians a venue in which to express their individual artistic talent while educating the listener in jazz improvisation. The goal of the series is to promote and preserve America's original art form. The focus of the jazz series is on traditional jazz, from big band through swing and bop, to the young lions of today.
The John Ricci Quartet is pleased to headline the inaugural concert planned for October 9, 2009 at Theater Jacksonville in San Marco. Other performers include Dot Wilder and EvenStill.

The Vox Populi Winners of The 8th Independent Music Awards Announced
The Fans have spoken. The Independent Music Awards (IMAs), the awards program for independent artists and fans, announced the results of the fan-selected winners of the 8th annual IMA program.
Over 33,000 votes were cast In support of independent artists who were nominated in more than 50 music genre and design categories. In many instances, fan-selected winners were different than the winners chosen by the industry-judging panel that included Paquita D’Riveria, John Patitucci, Peter Gabriel, Roger Daltrey, Suzanne Vega, Keith Urban, George Jones, Clint Black and many other industry vets.
John Ricci is one of a few artists to win both the industry judge's award as well as the people's choice.
